My Favourite 2 baby pics....

Hot Saturday!

Today is a super duper hot Saturday! And being pregnant really makes u even warmer. So these days, I seldom want to go to places where we need to be under the sun for long.

These days, baby is more n more active. Can feel it turning and tossing, kicking and boxing me. And its kicks are getting really powerful. Few nights ago, Allan placed his hand over my tummy as we lie on the bed. Baby was moving here n there. So it's like u can feel his legs poking out. U will feel something hard there. And the smiles just appeared on hubby's face. Those sweet little smiles... Seeing the smiles on his face just makes me feel "Oh so sweet" although I saw them from the sides only.

I gathered baby's legs are on my left and his head and shoulders are on my right. Cos I always feel those huge movements on my right. like something big is turning there. Should be its shoulders or head. Looking forward to my visit @ gynae on 6-May. Wanna see how baby is doing then. =)

Honey, about your nightmare that u told me this morning. Don't worry ok. It will be cute cute one lah. Love u lotsa.

Keep feeling tired these 2 days. Have a feeling that I will need a nap later. but good lah, weekend better rest more. I took afternoon mc yesterday cos felt a bit giddy and super-tired. Cannot focus at work. So I better re-charge during the weekends.

I have been very active in the singaporemotherhood june mummies forum these days. Think it's kinda good. Some are 2nd time mummies so are able to advise. we get to share information, joke around and have fun!

RAIL MALL

I'm so sua-ku. Never heard of n been to Rail Mall. It's along Upper Bukit Timah road. Hubby brought me there on Friday. Some pics... But basically, it's just Cold Storage and some eateries. But I had my fill of Subway! I have been missing this for some time!

See the Rail Mall bridge there?

Saw tis sign at the carpark. Find it kinda farni. which stupid a** doesn't off engine after parking?
Just wanna take a pic in front of the "Rail Bridge" Another shot... my tummy super big hor? haha..... this top is getting smaller n smaller.

S.U.N.D.A.Y

Today is a terribly hot day. I kept perspiring man! My "puking" sensation experienced yesterday is a common thing especially in third trimester(according to my reference book!). To solve this, eat 6 small meals instead of 3 normal ones. Do not eat too much close to bedtime. Sit upright for several hours after a meal. Erm, I'm feeling better today emotionally and mentally. I really feel communication in a relation ship is very important. But men are quite hard to fathom sometimes. And I always tot Women are the ones hard to fathom. God! Think I need to go n get those help books like "Men are from Mars n Women r from Venus". Always tot I won't need these kinda books after marriage, but.... keke....

Anyway, today jio MIL go Bugis as I want to go and pray... So managed to do something that my heart wants to do. =) but the traffic was super terok.

These 2 days, went to Ikea, Giant and Carrefour to grab stuff for baby as well get ready for delivery. My credit card bill for this month will be pretty high. but feel great nonetheless since can tick off the items under my "To-Buy list".
Me at Ikea... buying towels and wash cloth for baby.... I LUV the COLOURFUL towels!!!

Allan's turn to handcarry... after paying. going to Giant now.

This corner is our temporary baby stuff holding-area. The Graco stroller, car seat(on the left), milk bottle steriliser in the taka paper bag(on the right). The red thing is those mat with toys given by my cousin. This is the cabinet to put baby's clothings. This pic was taken some time back. Now, it's full liao but i lazy to go n take pic. show it next time yah.

B.I.N.G.E

Gosh, I have lost control of my diet man! Bingeing like nobody's business and just sit there and watch movie. how much calories can I burn just by sitting/lying there after goofing down a sandwich(double slices of ham + cheese) and some Jap snacks... I need to control my diet man. Must go and burn some calories later. if not, I will really become a fat mummy.

I don noe what came over me just now. at ard 1plus before I posted my previous post, I felt like puking. And it made me felt sick. quickly went to lie down. i hate the sensation of puking. don noe why i felt this way. too depressed? or ate something wrong this morning? quickly went to eat some sour plums. thank god i got better.

P.O.S.T

Been quite some time since i last posted a blog. Work is going fine. at least it's not too stressful these days so I can take it easy yah.

As for pregnancy-wise, baby is doing fine. The little one is 1.8kg as of 31weeks on my checkup on Monday. Next appt will be 3 weeks later at 6-May.

These days, i feel lost at times. don noe what to do. especially weekends. haiz. today got a baby talk at Suntec convention hall which I registered liao. that's talk on pregnancy health, baby massage/how to handle baby(by TMC Wong Boi boh), pain relief during labour and lastly Cordlife. There's door gift n refreshment. I wanted to go and just listen to the talks, see if the Cordlife discount is better than the deal at TMC which I signed up and since there's goodies bag, why not? no entrance fees somemore. keke... abit cheapo yah? but these days when i want to go out especially by myself, i will hesitate... lotsa factors stopping me. but i can't be dragging others to go with me to this kind of talk yah? Don't want family members to worry about me, pregnant already still anyhow walking around. Most probably, I will stay at home. later bring dog around the area for a long stroll. or watch movies that hubby has prepared. do something to cheer myself up.
Still got 2 more months to go!!!

Then also start thinking what to do tomorrow... maybe go swimming in the morning and see how lah.

Coughing Spell... no voice...

3 Things I'm thankful for today:
1) Hubby's love, care n concern. =)
2) My dog Xiaobai's undying loyalty. haha... follow me day in day out.
3) My home's peace n serenity. Basically it's just father-in-law, Minah and me... n of cos Xiaobai.

Kept coughing yesterday n last night. gosh! it's terrible. woke up today no voice. argh!
Hubby advised me to stay at home and rest. don talk too much also. I agree. And he has gotten some movies for me to watch... comedies somemore. hehe... so sweet!

i was at my desk sorting through my own finances. The thought of baby expenses is pretty scary. I can now understand why people say that rearing a child needs alot of money. One is already a headache man. Not to mention two yah.

I was reading up on the Tibetan Lhasa riots just now and found this pretty interesting website http://www.cctv.com/english/special/dalailama/01/index.shtml
Hmm... world peace is just simple 2 words but so hard to achieve yah?

Although I stayed at home the whole afternoon, it felt shiok! can rest n relax... it's so quiet n peaceful.

Last night, Allan & I went to the ex-Big Splash at ECP. Saw this cool chill-out place 'Twenty-Six". A very chic restaurant with Al-fresco dining. The food was expensive! Hubby said he wanna bring me here for dinner next time. But I felt that it's quite a waste of money lei. Hmm... It's been so long since we actually go out to town on weekend nights as hubby always seems quite tired after work. But he has realised going out for a walk or what is better than always work n home routine. haha...

We went to the new YONG HE DOU JIANG. It has shifted to Geylang Lor 27A. As usual, business is brisk. The new place can accomodate more tables hence we were able to find a table once we reached there. The only thing is to find a parking lot is like striking lottery. super tough. thank god i'm not driving hoho.... evil me *hiak hiak* We gotta park like 2 lorongs away lor. due to my cough, cannot eat youtiao. so it's soyabean drink, beancurd, xiaolongbao and shao-bin. the shao-bin is yummy!

Ok, just taken my cough syrup an hour ago. the drowsy effect is kicking in. need to rest liao.

Ciao....

Mummy-to-be on a Saturday!

I have just recap my notes for this week's antenatal class. The last lesson in the package. Alot of info man... how to wash & sterilise bottles properly... taking care of newborn like bathing, the minor problems in baby care (constipation, why they cry), baby massage. So much details to learn man!

Phew! the class could go on and on. It's really not easy man. keke... feeling worried and excited at the same time towards the D-Day! hehe! Being a 1st-time mummy...

Later going to accompany my mum after her outpatient visit at Yishun polyclinic.

Things I'm thankful for:
1) Close friends whom I can always rely on support from.
2) Colleague whom I can count as my close friend and is there for me when I need them
3) Hubby who is loving, supportive and working hard for the family.

Super looking forward to my next gynae visit on Monday! then it's 2 more months to my EDD date liao... Wonder how many kilos is the little fella inside now? My guess 1.5~1.6kg....

See ya baby. Mummy loves ya!

Pics update....Food n Tiffany....

We went to Amoy Street Food Market for lunch yesterday in search for the Missy Muffins (qiang tan da xing dong)! Gosh! there were so many stalls n queues. I couldn't find my Hainan Curry Rice so ate Wanton noodles with Michelle. Long queue n the auntie did everything herself! Can buy 4D => 2123. hehe.... My dearest Mich queuing while I sat. She's next in the queue! Finally! thanks gal!

The Auntie who sold the noodles single-handedly! pei fu her man. She's really generous with her ingredients. Initially, we tot everyone added $1 for more ingredients. then.....
Realised this is the standard $3 quantity! I had like 6 soup wantons and 6 fried wantons. with tons of veges n charsiew! only thing is the charsiew not really fantastic. but the yummy noodles n the rest make up for it! RECOMMENDED! We bought some muffins not from the stall that appeared in the show(cos gotta wait for 1 hour!) but from their competitor behind. Erm... i had sore throat so i didn't really eat the muffin. so no comments fm me.Took this with Tiffany last night when she came to find me. she also got a bob hairstyle. and she's really grown up. like a big girl. haha... Think she's like a mini-me now. Sporting short hair and chubby chubby. but I must say she's more chubby than me. hehe....

This is my favourite mee-hoon-kuey from Yishun. near my mum's place. There's a small dish of extra ikan bilis that I always request. it's FOC, btw.
Another shot....

Finally signed up with Cordlife today!

Was deciding to sign up with Stemcord or Cordlife for the past few days. After some research, decided to go with Cordlife. Went to TMC to sign up to get their $300 discount. Isn't the baby in the picture adorable? So cute that I must Post it! This contains the cryptobag which the gynae will use to store the cord blood in. All in all, their presentation was informative and I cleared all my doubts in the cosy seminar. felt that this was the right choice. since with the promotion, it's only $100 more than Stemcord. And it's better than Stemcord, in my opinion.

Must put me as your referral if you decide to sign-up with Cordlife okie? We will each get $50 off. haha...

Daddy, pls remember to remind mummy to pack this in her labour bag! And Daddy has to call Cordlife when mummy is admitted to Mount Alvernia and also after she has delivered me to this world!

It's Mostly about Food!

Here r some of the pictures of my lunch outings.... had some bluetooth problem with my phone. really an IT idiot at times, i think. sticking back to my usb cable to d/l the pics. so this will be a PICS combo entry. =P

**As I start uploading the pictures, I think this is a bad time to upload the "mei-shi" aka nice food pics. god! midnight hungry pangs +baby kicking me. Back to topic, it's either my handphone camera super good or wat? the food all look darn nice. I'm amazed my nokia 6500 classic (2mp camera) can churn out these glorious pics. let me know if u interested in any of the food, i will dig the address out for ya.

This is the famous AV(stands for Alexandra Village) fish soup that we have been patronizing for a long time. In this coffeeshop, this stall has the best business => that translates to Longest Q! U really need to be patient with this. But it's worth the wait. Lots of veg inside!

1st time I tried mixed fish with thick beehoon. it was delicious. usually i take sliced fish (non-fried). and not to mention their chilli is POWER!
One of my dear engineer (Elaine) bought this cheesecake for my teabreak! So sweet of her yah! It's actually from Siglap.Mango cheesecake! It was so yummy that I chomped it down at one go. my god! look at the huge serving of mango. definitely worth it although i don't know how much it cost. She told me she bought the last 4 pieces! Smart gal....
This is at Blk 23 Haig road. near the Sheng Siong supermarket. One of the qiang tan da xing dong.
Their fish n chips. small portion lei. but the batter is amazing crispy!Their famous dish => Pork cutlet with ham and cheese... erm, I think it's not enough for a guy, based on hubby's appetite. haha.... but can try for the novelty lah. the sauce is unique n delicous though. 1st time tasted it.This is Prawn Mee at Henderson Road. $3.50 and you get quite alot of prawns and a pc of sparerib. It's pretty delicious. again, for guys, it's not enough.Let action speak for itself! How many bowls are there? The 3 students ordered 2 bowls each! Me and mich order 1 bowl each la. Should try the dry one if u r there. the chilli is unique n delicious. This is from another qiang tang da xing dong. Japanese stall at Bedok South (opp Temasek JC). Katsu-don with the miso soup ($4.50). Value for money! Very filling!Another shot....Went Maxwell Road market. It's my 1st time being there. I didn't take pics when the food came. But there is this Tian Tian Chicken rice stall that serves big delicious portion at $2.50! Looks yummy though i didn't eat it. i ate porridge instead cos I had a hearty breakfast(nasi lemak). We wanted to buy the ham-chee-peng where u gotta fry it yourself. It's 6 for $1. but alas only start selling at 1pm! super ya-ya.My dear IA student Alvina passed her Driving Test and bought donuts to meet us for tea-break last friday to celebrate! J.Co donuts from Raffles City. 12 original ones and 12 flavoured ones!!! And guess what, the plain ones were snapped up first! It's really yummy. I took 2 original donuts. One student ate 5!!!! woahaha....The flavored ones. Don't they look so yummy n tempting? Can go and buy it... thanks Alvina for taking the trouble to buy and travel all the way to Comtech to meet us. Hope ur wishes come true soon and u can throw a chalet party to celebrate!!! U know what i'm talking about. ;-)

14.mar.2008

I don't know what to title this blog really.
Finally have the time to sit down and type out what happened 3 weeks ago. It seemed like it happened long time ago...

My parents' place in Yishun caught fire in the wee hours of 14-March. My parents, brother and his gf were actually sent into SGH burn unit ICU. Thankfully the firemen came in time to rescue. Gosh! I broke down when I heard it. Seeing them in the ICU unit with tubes down their throat and everything. They couldn't move, need to lie in bed. need to be sedated else they would pull out the tubes from their throat. their hands need to be tied to the bed rails to prevent them pulling out tubes. it must have hurt. tubes in the throat. milk tubes up their nostrils. they can't talk. it was like this for 4~5 days, i think before the tubes were out of their throats. Trips to the hospital wore me down. almost fell sick after the 4th day. but luckily, my body antibiotics managed to overcome it.

This is a scary experience... when i recall the 1st day i visit them, what my mum wrote on a piece of paper to me (cos she cannot talk). nah, i don wanna write it here.

My dad who seemed the worst initially recovered the fastest. He's really the Hero. 1st to recover in my family. My mum took a longer time.

Hubby's support was important then. Thank god he's there with me when i got the news. that 2 weeks were tiring. lotsa of things to think about, people to handle, tons of people to talk to like relatives, etc. most of them are pretty understanding. me and my sister were super busy. we were like the information counter to update our relatives on our parents' conditions, etc.

So the house needs to be renovated again and my parents are staying in a temporary flat in amk. i hope that there won't be such an incident again. This is not the 1st time but I really hope it's the last....

I can't say anything else but God Bless!

Hunger PangZzzz!

I’m feeling super hungry despite eating a plate of vegetarian beehoon 15mins ago! It’s scary! And my stomach kept grinding as I was eating my breakfast just now. Don’t know why. My stomach is like an endless PIT! I definitely can’t eat anything for now. If not, I will take in too many calories. DISCIPLINE!!! Mind over Body! Sometimes the body sends weird signals like this. And if I just listen to it, I think will become a fat mummy in no time. haha…. So must control. Don play play. Trying to blog to digress from the “hunger” signal and drinking lotsa water to fill up the stomach. Water has ZERO calories.

I have been trying to blog for the past weekend on what has happened recently. But somehow I still am too lazy to do it and was busy during the weekends as well. Erm, let’s hope I have the time and energy and mood to do it soon!

For now, I’m feeling excited about a lot of things. Mainly Labour (the process)…. Breastfeeding (whether I can do total bf for the 1st 6 months)…. I told hubby 2 days ago,” I will need your support very much. It is very important to me.” And with him reassuring me with his support, I feel happy and sweet inside. These days, hubby is able to feel the little one kicking inside and I can see the happy Daddy now automatically put his hand on my tummy to feel for himself once in a while. No need me to instruct. Haha… Yesterday, I could see on my tummy the movement of his limb(sorry, don’t know it’s hand or leg.) protruding out. Find it super cool and amazing!

That’s All for nOw! :-)
