Virus Attack!

Allan had food poisoning followed by stomach virus the whole of last week. Now, it's my turn. Actually, this is contagious (through saliva). My MIL is also down with the virus. Poor her. She said she has never felt so sick in her life. Not sure if she's exaggerating but she's in a worse state than I am. She's having terrible body aches too.

I had bad diarrhoea yesterday. Stopped liao but now every night, I will have body aches. Saw the doc just now. I asked why do I feel so lethargic? I totally cannot focused this afternoon and came home from work. He said I need to replenish those lost minerals. So need to drink plenty of H2O or 100plus.

So i decided to stay at home and rest tomorrow. Anyway, I brought my laptop home so I can actually work from home.

Wishing myself (& Mother-in-law) speedy recovery. =)

Wanna Win a LEXUS LS430 ???

Sim Wong Hoo is offering his Lexus LS430 as the grand prize in Creative Sitex 2006!

It's the 1st time I'm hearing that a 1st grand prize is a 2nd-hand item. I think he is trying to be "creative" when coming up with that. Frankly speaking, I don't understand the rationale of him doing that. A high-maintenance 2nd-hand car as a prize? Maybe it's because the Lexus will not be covered under warranty after 3 years. haha... p/s: the car is coming to 3 years old. That's evil me thinking lah. Don't be surprised if he comes up with a new "creative" idea in future as this is not the 1st "creative" that I have heard of. I'm proud of him in establishing itself as the market leader in Soundblaster. But I think its marketing strategies need to be improved. One big difference between Creative and Apple (not to mention its product outlook) is its marketing strategy. US companies focus very strongly on this but not local companies. What a pity when the product features are good.

Coming back to the prize... If I win it, I think my best bet would be to sell it and you should be able to get a more economical NEW car.

My Weekend...

Lotsa things happening this wkend! Finally having the time to rest now.... and to blog. hee... Was trying to be a dutiful daughter-in-law (& also sister-in-law) just now. haha=) Allan and I were out with MIL this afternoon... we needed to go Hougang Mall. Then we accompanied MIL to Marine Parade for supermarketing.

Came back home at 4pm. Helped MIL to prepare for dinner as the maid went out today. 2nd BIL needed to have dinner early as he got an exercise tonight. So I helped here and there wherever possible lah. We had our dinner. Then I drove 2nd BIL to AMK mrt together with MIL.

Reached home at 6.30pm. Damn shagged...

Furthermore, we went Kent Ridge park this morning with Xiaobai. It's a pretty nice place. Not much pple so we unleashed Xiaobai most of the time. I think he was super happy this morning! Running around without any restriction. Whenever we see that there isn't much people and no dogs around, we would unleash him. It gives me lotsa joy to see him enjoying himself.

Yesterday was a busy day. It was my cousin's son, Javier's 1-year-old birthday. 1st time I went to my cousin Ah Wee's place. I like it alot!!! He is a freelancing ID. I know who to look for when I need ID in future! =P

Around 5 plus, met up with Michelle to go to our boss Francis's house for a farewell gathering. He's migrating to Australia soon. He stays at a terrace house in Serangoon Gardens Estate. His place is beautiful! Very balinese style. The moment I step in, I feel like I am in a resort! Don noe how to describe it. The place seems "messy" but it's not. There are many pieces of furniture that enhances the Balinese theme. The air well is very nicely decorated too and you can see the air well from the master bedroom and study room as well. I felt the place is pretty good for a small family. How i wish i can buy it! I'm dreaming away....haha... he sold it off for $920K. I actually brought my camera along. But too pai sei to snap pictures. so unable to show u guys.

But one sad thing thou, Allan is still sick. His bout of food poisoning has not subsided. Still having diarrhoea. haiz... I really really hope he will get well soon.

p/s: Am too lazy to upload pics. maybe i will do it later on.

The Little One....

Hadn't been updating my blog for quite some time. Feeling lazy. hee =P
And also enjoying couplehood life. Things are fine & I'm feeling happy. Life goes on with my little niece Tiffany who still has her routine of coming to knock on my door every morning, whenever possible. She's growing up real fast and she's gonna be a jie-jie soon! SIL is expecting her 2nd child in April 2007.

Little snap-shots of her. mostly taken in the early morning before we leave for work.

Tiff just had her hair trimmed...

That's her with her half-ponytail before the hair trim. Allan & her were "nua-ing" aka lazing on our bed while i was packing up.

From right: Xiaobai, Tiffany & Me! haha... Xiaobai as usual was still lazing on the armchair when Tiff climbed up and sat beside it. She pretty much likes Xiaobai and always ask Xiaobai to follow her. But most of the time, he ignores her unless there's.....tada.... food!

In the evening time, Xiao-shen aka me is back fm work. So her art & craft lesson begins. She always like to come my room and ask for pen, paper, etc and start her doodling...

Aiyo... why is Xiao-shen squeezing me so tightly? I gotta do so cos I took this pic myself. But she likes to take pics and will without fail, "I want to see" the pic after taking it.

This is my soft toy Pig. Which she really likes! And will feel so proud that she can carry the big pig. haha...

Buffet at Tsubaki (165 Goldhill Plaza)...oiishi!

If you like Japanese food, I would like to recommend Tsubaki which is located at 165 Goldhill Plaza. Near Novena square. Buffet cost $30++ per head for dinner. We had sashimi, tempura, yakitori, appetizer (their chawamushi is simply soft & delicious.). soba, grilled fish, etc.

I think it's a pretty good place for gathering with friends. Cos it's not too noisy. =)

Singtel: The largest telco company in SG. Good service? Improvement pls...

Pls check your Singtel bills before you make your payment. I really cannot stand their service and website!

1st encounter: We signed up for their broadband and got the wireless modem for $88. But when we received the 1st bill, we were charged $131 for this modem. Had to call them up to enquire why the higher charges. Pls note: Their customer service(CS) operators work from 8am to 6pm on Mon-Sat. Sunday- Nilch... I always do all my bill checking, etc on Sunday so always felt frustrated whenever I want to enquire on Sunday for Singtel bills. I don't face this with other companies. Even Stanchart Bank has operators on Sunday!

When I managed to get through, the CS said Singtel has never offered wireless modem at $88. meaning: at such a low price. I asked,"Do you need me to scan and email you the brochure of the offer?" "Oh, I will check with our sales department," the CS replied. I wanted to faint. And she got back... 2 weeks later. Of course, I didn't pay till I got the reply. What comes? A red letter stating my outstanding payment. She mentioned the excess will be offset in the following month. Come Oct bill, I don't see the excess being credited back to my account. I had to make a call again to enquire if this had been missed out.

Gotta explain the whole story again. "Oh, the excess wasn't in time to capture under Oct bill. So it will be credited back in Nov bill. I don't understand why it took the CS 2 weeks to get back. I shall wait and see if it will be offset in my Nov bill.

I was being charged Oct and Nov => 2 months subscription fees in a single bill for my Yishun place broadband. Wanted to call and enquire. But the super-duper hotline 1688 is simply impossible to get through. I went to their website wanting to get their email address. just a simple email address where I can make my inquiry since the phoneline isn't working out. You will encounter this link http://home.singtel.com/customer_service/cust_serv_emailus.asp
There is no email address provided. You actually need to fill up the below stuff to send in your enquiry. They need 5 working days to respond! I don't know if I'm really impatient or what. But I find it abit too much. 5 working days to respond?

My suggestion to Singtel is to have customer services operators (for us to call in) available on Sunday too. For such a big organisation, I cannot fathom why aren't they doing that.

I wonder do you face any problem with them?

Finally... One more night, one more night...

One more night before seeing hubby! Feels really happy! Can't wait for tomorrow 5.30pm. I will definitely come home on time. Hang around, have dinner and bath. Then it's off to airport to fetch hubby. He will reach Singapore at 8plus pm.

Read in today's Sunday's Times that OCBC will be opened from 11am - 7pm on Sunday at 5 of their branches. I applaud to that! This is a good idea as we are usually left with Saturday morning to do our banking. And there will definitely be super long queue cos everyone is too busy on weekdays to do banking services. I mean come on, we got to work from Mon to Fri. Don't expect us to take leave because of that yah? I'm glad that OCBC is providing this service and I hope other banks will follow in their footsteps. :)

Hope that I can sleep well tonight!

It's FRIDAY!

I don’t know why I’m pretty energized today despite not sleeping well last night. I was so happy this morning. I guessed it’s TGIF and the thought that I’m a few more days away from seeing Allan. And really can’t wait for Monday to come. This is the first time in my life that I’m actually looking forward to a Monday.

Anyway, I’m trying to keep my spirits up. I have the “I can accomplish anything and everything I want today” kinda feeling. I wonder how long it will last thou.

Time to get back to work!

He's out of town!

Allan is out of town this week. He left for Shenzhen on 6th and will be back on 13 Nov. I'm counting down to it man! It's the 1st time we are away from each other for so long. There is a Chinese saying that "xiao3 bia2 shen4 xin1 hun1" which translates that a short separation between a couple beats a newly wedded couple. I think it's really true.

I started conjuring all kinds of activities during his abscence.

I went for a facial yesterday with Michelle as we both got complimentary facials from UOB. Drove from work place to Stamford Court. Missed the Merchant Rd exit and lost our way for a while. But managed to get there after a while. Phew! We had our dinner at Curry Favour. The portion is really huge! I ordered Pork Curry rice and it was delicious. Highly Recommended. If you pay by UOB credit card, they will give you a $5 voucher! Very worth it. I'm going to bring Allan there soon!

I think time will fly past before I know it. A good thing is I'm staying with my in-laws, so I don't feel so alone when hubby is not around. And MIL is very caring. She knew I drove out yesterday to meet friends after work. She actually called and asked if I could find the place, parking, etc. =)

Well, I'm going to my mum's place tomorrow. You know I kept typing "I'm going home". And I need to correct myself each time.

I feel that time flies past faster and faster each night. home-dinner-read papers-bath-tv-sleep. I don't even have much time to read my books these days. I need to figure out what's wrong. Why don't I feel rested, etc.

Time to finish reading my papers for today. My mind is thinking what should I do on Sat... hehe... Actually left it blank for now. Wanted to see if MIL wants to go anywhere. I can accompany her if there's anywhere she wanna go. If not??? Thought of bringing my dog to ECP to rest and relax. Listening to the sea breeze and with my book in hand and my dog beside me! If not, lazing in my room would be a good idea too. read, watch tv...

FLUSHED AWAY!

Finally we went to see a movie Flushed Away. I feel like watching cartoons nowadays. Reason is the shows are usually hilarious and you know the ending will always be a good one. The next cartoon that I want to watch is Open Season. Saw the preview. Think it will be pretty good.

Popped by DAISO at Plaza Sing and it was simply crowded. You will definitely bum into someone at some point in time. So don't say I never warn you. =P

Brought Xiaobai to ECP this morning and was just thinking what never stopped moving. First is the sea. forever there will be waves splashing onto the shore. Second will be time. Imaging the clock ticking by every second. Time will not wait for anyone. No wonder the saying Every second counts. Just a passing thought.

Gonna post some more pics of Tiffany later. I went to my mum's place on Thurs night so she didn't see me on that night and Fri morn. She actually took MIL's hp and told the maid she wants to call me on Friday. Allan was in KL on Thurs night too. When she called me, she actually asked me,"Shen-shen, where is Xiao-shu? Xiao-shu never come back?" haha... kids arh. They really amaze you at times!

The pics are taken on Fri night. Oh, one of her favourite activity is to come to our room and play. which she does every weekday morning for now. Sometimes before the alarm clock rang or while I'm snoozing it. maybe i don need an alarm clock anymore. hee...

Had a wonderful day!

One of Allan's move => Trying not to let Tiffany move.

My favourite shot of the night!
He's like the King. enjoying his sleep on the armchair. snoring away at times. haha...
I like the red entrance at Daiso! Reminds me of Christmas which is coming soon!
