Our House....

I took a day's leave today. For a few reasons.

1) To take a break... been busy for the past 2 weeks so need a break. Furthermore, I'm actually not allowed to bring over any leave when my contract ends at Sep. I'm not going for any holidays so decided to take leave and relax at home.

2) Coincidentally, my new home is connecting the electricity and water today! So someone gotta be there.

I must say it's tough to take leave alone and relax at home. Somemore with your laptop at home, it's like the laptop is beckoning "Power Me Up, baby". I didn't sleep very well after I off my alarm. It's like the work is creeping onto me subconsciously. Anyway, woke up at 9 plus. Had breakfast then went out with my MIL and 2nd BIL. At least must engross in something to distract myself from thinking about work. It works wonder! I was totally relaxed after that.

Came back, rest a while, took a shower before leaving for our new home. The bus journey from here to there is pretty fast. if not for the waiting time. It was super hot this afternoon! Waiting in the bus-stop with the whole lots of secondary school students! The SPS person would come between 2pm-3pm. I reached there at 2pm and he called. chop chop. it was settled! so happy! at least there's light during the night. I'm pleased with the SPS service. I even brought my storybook to entertain myself while waiting. didn't even read a single page there.

Went for my long-due facial! i went to Passage cos I need a good one to "rejuvenate" my dull skin. hehe... Didn't go for too long. I even got down the wrong station! *wa pianz* got in and alight at the following stop. The extraction took a long time today. Think too many blackheads and what-nots.Feels that my skin is more radiant after the facial!
Finally took some pics today!

This is the view from the front door. You can look ahead into the kitchen and laundry area. This is where the dining table will be.

Enter the door, look right and you see this side of the living room. TV's gonna be here next time.
This is the entrance to the kitchen. Right side is the stove and sink. See below pic for the left side (cabinet).
Left side is the kitchen cabinets and common toilet.
Laundry area next time. wash clothes, hang clothes....This is taken from the entrance of the master bedroom.Left side is a custom-made wardrobe. I didn't take pics of the other 2 rooms though. Will take next time.
This pic was taken by me while I was on a bus to Kovan MRT from my new house! This market cum hawker center is opposite my place. It looks abit fake yah? But it's real! I have realised something from this pic. Pictures taken from a bus, a car or while you are walking along the road are very different. I have never seen this sight before although I have been there a couple of times. Try the different ways next time! Hee... quite convenient. took a bus ride. 5 mins to Kovan mrt... =)

Life... cherish it!

These days, watching the news has given me an extremely strong vibe to cherish our lives. Cos it's simply unpredictable.

Army trainees in Taiwan being killed in plane crash while in camp. An auntie getting crushed to death by a falling tree in a park. it just makes the world gray and solemn. what to expect next? and i recalled an old man who passed away after being bitten by a crab. young and fit people died in their sleep. Ok... enough is enough.

Simply said, cherish your loved ones around you. Be more proactive in reaching out to people whom you really care. Tell your spouse you love her/him and mean it from the bottom of your heart. Love like you have never been loved before.

I read somewhere before a very touching story about cherishing our loved ones quite some time ago. Since then, I have had this habit of telling him that I love him before he drops me off at work every morning. Telling him this which is right from my heart makes me feel that there is no regrets if ever anything happens.... love u lots!

Early 20s

What I miss greatly being in early 20s is:

Be Able to Eat Freely! SUPPERS!!!
Last time, I can eat whatever I want and not feel a thing. Now, it seems like I gain weight easily even though I do exercise like once/twice a week despite having less supper meals. Supper is my favourite meal. It's also a time in my day where I can relax and chill out with hubby. These days, my digestive system is slowing down. After eating supper, it takes a while before my food gets digested. And I can feel the time lag. My high metabolism rate has slowed down, I guessed.Argh!

Starting to feel the Impact of Late 20s...

This year, I'm going to be 27. The idea of "me ageing" has been swirling in my mind for quite some time.

At times, I feel that my skin is not the same as the past. it's becoming more dull. Too busy to go for facial. how?! I must book in advance!

********************************************************************************************
Today, my hubby suddenly asked me over dinner,"What do you usually wear at home huh?"
very weird question right? day in day out, wear almost the same thing and now u r asking me this? he really got short-term memory.

"Oh, i usually have 2 set of clothings at home. One is a converse cotton shorts, the other is a very lork (those 3 for $10) with a fake Coca-cola logo bought 4 years ago." I replied.

"Why do you ask that?" I queried.

"Today you wear like that look young and energetic." he replied, smiling cheekily.
p/s: I was wearing those running reebok shorts round type aka short shorts with a white tee.

"What do I look like when I wear my normal stuff?" I was laughing and abit mad at the same time. more like amused. He did not reply or rather not.

So I guessed,"look auntie issit?" he just giggled away.

"I will go buy more of this sports shorts liao." I just shrugged.

Actually i seldom wear my sports shorts at home. feels that it's too short. and there's parents-in-law and brother-in-laws around. BUT for my dear hubby, I'm not going to care so much! JUST WEAR IT!

Mother's Day celebrations...

It's Mother's Day today. How did you celebrate it with your mum and mother-in-law?
I thought I better note it down.... at least next year comes, I can use this to recall. haha...

This year is the 1st year after customary wedding. MIL told Allan she wanted to try Peranakan buffet at Hotel Phoenix. So we brought her there last Saturday. That was our celebration for her. =) MIL's birthday is coming up next week too. so gotta think about it.

As for my mum, we went for dinner last Sunday. Then last thurs, I bought a cake and a small bunch of flowers for her. hee... to surprise her. It was a impromptu thought that day and like nike: Just Do It!

Actually why is there a special day to commemorate Mum's Day. sometimes i feel that it's abit too commercialized in Singapore. Shopping malls are all flooded with gifts that you can buy for your mum. We should be cherishing our mums everytime, shouldn't we? Not just this day. Perhaps a big hug and a peck on the cheek is the best one that comes right from our hearts.

p/s: lotsa occassions this month.... Natalie's full month. weddings. etc. etc.

Something is wrong with Blogspot!

Darn it! Blgspot users like me who are singnet users are currently experiencing problems. Thank God there is a temporary solution to this! But I hope the Blogspot team will take this up with Singnet to solve it!

I get quite irritated whenever I try to blog but am unable to! I was reading the thread for this problem just now when I see other bloggers who gets irritated, frustrated at unable to blog. Hee... I'm not the only one. =P It seems to be part of our life.

Went for a stroll after dinner at East Coast Park. In his company, it just seems so fun. relaxing. held hands. or did we? but talk... yep. yakking happily along as the waves crashed onto the sandy beaches. without thoughts of tomorrow's work. treasured the time. although weekends alway seemed to whizzed past me.

Work is keeping me busy these days. But I am going to go for my massage this coming Tues and Thurs! I MUST make time for it. Delayed it for the last work week. Gotta get down to it! To see if it solve my tensed-up shoulder and back.

Anyway, am planning to take leave on Fri after Vesak day. by then I should be able to "breathe" for a while. see how.

p/s: I'm praying hard that I will be able to take leave without a care of the world...

1st May

Today is a public holiday. Woke up with an unrested mind. Subconsciously, I was thinking about work. Trying not to get stressed up unnecessarily. Relax, I tell myself!!!
I try to flash back to my Sunday where hubby and I went cycling at the East Coast Park. No doubt I had very bad muscle aches in my legs and butts that night, I still enjoyed it!

We rented a tandem bike. 1st time riding tandem bike. It's quite exciting especially on the 2nd half of our cycling trip whereby I took the front and he the back cos my bums hurt while sitting at the rear. Riding a tandem bike in crowded ECP with lotsa inline-skaters is more dangerous than driving along traffic jams in other parts of Singapore. There were times where I wobbled here and there and wanna fall off. Tandem bike requires some form of trust especially for the one sitting behind. Cos you can't really see right in front and the direction of the bike comes from the one in front. So you just gotta trust him/her leading you.

We cycled for 2 hours under the hot sun, getting a nice tan in the meanwhile.
Rested on a breakaway which was the most relaxing part of the trip. It was peacecful there. watching planes go past. seeing the waves coming in. Most importantly, feeling the strong sea breeze blowing you and all your troubles away! Simply Shiok!

Now, I know why Marine Parade flats cost so much! U simply stay so near to a place of heaven.

Just reached!

Some sand-castle exhibition. I like this pic of Allan. he with his thoughts.....
Does the above pic looks like a kampung? Allan was trying to capture a snapshot of our bike amidst the green lush trees.Me day-dreaming... enjoying the breeze.
