After being away from work for.. let's see...12 days, I can't exactly remember where my work stopped at. Took 1.5hrs to read through 44 emails and get my engines on after that. Felt better after sorting through the things that needs to be done. Hate the feeling of being lost.
Read an article in Female mag titled "How to enjoy your work" or something like that while waiting in a clinic today. Yah right, just what i needed today! Just wondering if anybody does truly enjoys their work and going to work each day? Beau once told me,"Nobody enjoys working." Is it true? But somehow, work do gives us a sense of purpose. It makes us feel important in our own role, be it how small or great. We have to carry out the daily job routines, to solve the job's new challenges, to stand firm at times, to negotiate, to deliver our ideas across and most importantly to IMPROVE. It is the word that drives people to higher levels and excel.
My most vivid memory of that article is that we should not let work consume entirely of our time. They are just an aspect of our life which fulfills us. There are others like family, sports, hobbies, friends which are equally important, if not more important. It's a matter of priority. What's yours? Feel free to share ur tots in my comments.
For me, after spending much OT time in my 1st and 2nd job, realised that the time spent with my HB or myself in the evening is much more important than that. The money is not that great anyway. Hence, my priority shifted towards jobs which are more family oriented and result-oriented. As long as the work is done, I go home.
On of our team-mate, Serene, whose last day is this Friday bought a Secret Recipes' Chocolate cheesecake for our tea-break. It was yummy but sinful! The tea-break made me felt better. Our team discussed the various experiences of our trips during the shutdown to Hk, BKK, KL, Genting, etc. So in a way, it's like we are slowly transitioning from holiday mood to working mode. Of course, the sad thing is that Serene is leaving. But I really wish her all the best and hope that her next job will be fulfilling.
actually, i'm in a sleepy mode while typing this. hope it still sounds logical cos I'm going to doze off soon! Zzzzz.
